dcdirkzwager This is a band that I come back to more often than I expected I would. Highly recommended if you dig good black with a slight folk edge.

David Fischer I fell in love with Havukruunu's last release, Uinuos Syömein Sota in the last quarter of 2021, so it was only a matter of time before I got my filthy hands on Kuu Erkylän Yllä. The clean parts have been improved dramatically. Yön Torni, my highlight of the record, worms its way into my ears in the most inappropriate of moments. I feel like Uinuos Syömein Sota was a bit stronger overall, but here we have 35 brisk, well-invested and sophisticated minutes of Finnish paganism! Hail Havukruunu! Favorite track: Yön Torni.

Sean TPLTR It's really hard to pick a favorite with these guys. Every song has black metal elements along with melodic monk-like chanting and a touch of haunting doom which makes for a perfect blend of all the metal genres I enjoy. Favorite track: Yön Torni.

I thought I was going to pass over this at first - too melodic, too atmospheric. But the melodies are raging and the atmosphere bites, I simply could not get the songs out of my head. The often staccato (and perfectly harsh) vocal delivery adds another layer of frost, and I can almost feel the cold, Siberian forest air settle around me. rvss.eel
